Around the world, fantastic research is done by universities and research institutions to support first responders. Civil security research always aims to improve first responder capabilities and strengthen resilient societies.
But as a researcher, how do I know what is needed in the field? What are the challenges first responders face day by day? IFAFRI collected 10 common capability gaps faced by first responders worldwide, such as "real-time geolocation in x,y and z outdoors, indoors, underground" or "real-time monitoring of first responder health".
This is the first invitation for the Gap Showcase targeting Capability Gap 5: „THE ABILITY TO MAINTAIN INTEROPERABLE COMMUNICATIONS WITH RESPONDERS IN ANY ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS” and related specific technical requirements to fulfil this gap.
Our presenters will be Aron Krausz from the UK Home Office, Michelle Royal from FirstLink Analytics and Dr. Alexander Rösner from the German Federal Agency for Technical Relief.
